Forever Paws

Providing peace of mind for you and your pet

Our Forever Paws Scheme

Our Forever Paws Scheme is designed to offer reassurance that your pet will be cared for in the event of you no longer being here anymore.

If the Branch is notified under these circumstances, we will arrange for your pet to come into our care and begin the process of finding them a suitable, loving new home.

What is the process

Every animal accepted onto the scheme undergoes an individual assessment to determine their needs and suitability for rehoming.

We carefully match each pet with a new owner by conducting a thorough application process to ensure the environment is appropriate and that the adopter can meet the animal’s welfare requirements.

You can be reassured that your pet will find a home where they will be well loved and cared for, if you were no longer here.

Important information

We are able to rehome animals who are considered rehomeable and who are coping well at the time they come into our care.

Unfortunately, we may be unable to accept:

  • Animals with severe or unmanageable health conditions
  • Animals with significant behavioural issues.
  • Dogs prohibited under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991

Each case is assessed individually with the animal’s welfare as our primary consideration.

Is there a cost?

While there is no cost involved, we would be very grateful if you would like to leave a gift/donation in your will to help us care for your pet when you are no longer here. The Forever Paws Scheme provides reassurance, but we do recommend that you also consider appointing a trusted family member or friend who would be willing and able to care for your pet should they outlive you.

To ensure your wishes are clearly understood, it is advisable to include the appropriate Forever Paws wording within your Will so that your executor is aware of your intentions.
