Errol's story

Errol spent 673 days in our care before finding his forever home, after being signed over by an owner who struggled to manage his severe skin condition. Originally named Error, he had large, red, raw wounds across his face and body caused by constant scratching. Unfortunately, his owner was unable to afford the ongoing costs or recommended allergy testing. In an attempt to stop the scratching, clip-on nail caps had been fitted to his claws, which left him frustrated and unable to climb, grip, or scratch naturally. During his time with us, Errol attended 43 veterinary consultations, and although he required no surgery, his treatment and care still cost nearly £2,000.

Ruby's story

Ruby came into our care at the end of 2024 after being rescued from unsuitable living conditions. Just weeks later, we discovered Ruby was pregnant! She went on to give birth to 12 beautiful puppies, each of whom was eventually found a loving new home. In early 2025, Ruby’s own happy ending arrived when she was adopted and renamed Zuby. While Ruby herself didn’t need medical treatment, caring for her and her 12 puppies placed a significant financial strain on the branch. It’s only thanks to the kindness and generosity of our supporters that we were able to give them the care and safe start in life they deserved.

Roy's story

Roy arrived at our centre and spent 66 days in our care after social services stepped in to help his hospice-bound owner. He came with his two younger companions, Mouse and Moose, having sadly lost another housemate. Roy had severely damaged eyes, a dental issue, and ear mites. During his time with us, he attended 8 veterinary consultations and underwent eye removal and dental surgery, costing just under £500. Roy found his perfect forever home.
