Hi there, I’m Minnie
A little bit about me
I’m a 3 year old girl who is searching for a special home where I can finally leave my difficult past behind and learn what it truly means to feel safe and loved.
I have had a very challenging start in life. I grew up without regular access to food and received sporadic socialisation while living in unsuitable conditions. As a result, the world can still feel like an uncertain place for me at times, despite all the progress I’ve has made.
On the surface, I am a friendly and affectionate girl. I’ll often come over to greet visitors and enjoy a gentle fuss from people I trusts. I prefers short interactions on her own terms. I’m not subtle and show that I want to form connections and be part of a family.
However, beneath that brave exterior is a cat who can still feel insecure and worried. When I’m unsure of a situation or feel overwhelmed, I can become overstimulated and may struggle to cope. I’m looking for people who can recognise when I’m feeling anxious and give me the understanding and space I need.
Because of this, I am looking for an adult-only home. I will thrive with patient adopters who can move at me pace, respect me boundaries, and help me continue to build trust.
For the right people, I will be an incredibly rewarding companion. I have already shown just how resilient I am, and with love, patience and understanding, I’ll continue to blossom into the happy, secure cat I deserve to be. I’m hoping my new owners will be happy that I need a ‘hands off’ approach at least initially.
I will initially want to settle in, in a predominately outdoor area where I can familiarise myself with my new surroundings without the challenges indoor living can bring to a cat who can lack confidence. I and the team would love it, if I could also be given the opportunity to live indoors in the future once I’ve had chance to find my paws.
