Success stories
Shamus |
Shamus (formally known as Shadow), a Great Dane crossbreed, is only three years old and has spent over half his life in kennels waiting patiently for the special home he needed. Due to his large size and boisterous behaviour Shamus proved too much of a challenge for many potential adopters.
However, after many months of training to help improve his behaviour and extensive website advertising Shamus has now found his perfect home living with four other dogs – two Great Danes, a Spaniel and a cross breed – and as you can see from the photograph he is now part of the family. |

Mary and Smarty Pants |
Mary (pictured above left) and Smarty Pants (pictured above right), are two black short haired cats who are in their twilight years. Mary, who is 12 years old, found herself needing a new home after her owner sadly passed away. Poor Smarty Pants, who is approximately 15 years old and blind in one eye, was dumped on the doorstep of a RSPCA Rehoming Officer.
In general most people prefer to adopt younger adults and kittens and overlook older cats. However, Mary and Smarty Pants were lucky; they were offered a new home together within a month of arriving at our cattery. As you can see from the photographs, they have both settled in very well and are enjoying a well earned retirement. |

Roberta, Bubble and Squeak |
| |
Roberta, Bubble & Squeak arrived in our care after they had been left abandoned by their owner at a stray dog kennels. Roberta is a black and white dutch rabbit and bubble and squeak are tri-coloured guinea pigs.
This trio were shy and nervous when they first arrived in our care and it was obvious from the start that all three were inseparable. We then had the task of finding a new owner who had both the time and space to care for them all. We placed an appeal in our local newspaper and they are now enjoying life in their new home with a lovely family, who has since adopted another rabbit from us. |

Polo’s story |
Polo (above) arrived in our care after he was found wandering the streets with a nasty abscess on his head. As you can see from the picture above poor Polo was in a sorry state.
Polo was given antibiotics to reduce the chance of infection in his injury as it healed. As his coat was so dirty, polo was given a bath. He soon made a full recovery from his ordeal and as you can see from the picture below, is a picture of health and happiness. Polo is now enjoying life to the full in his new home. |

Max |
Max is a long haired GSD who is two years old. He was brought into our care with his mum and three feline friends after their owner had abandoned them. Max was very unhappy and stressed in the kennel environment but his size, breed and training requirements put off many potential adopters.
Max needed a new home with an owner who understood the exercise and training requirements of a GSD so we placed an appeal about him on a special website dedicated to helping rehome rescue GSDs. The appeal was a great success and as you can see from the photographs, Max is now very happy in his new home and is enjoying days out at the seaside with his new family. |
