About us
The RSPCA Leeds, Wakefield & District Branch provides a safe haven in which abused, neglected and abandoned animals can be cared for and rehabilitated before they are found a new home.
The Branch can provide accommodation for up to 22 cats, 15 dogs and 5 rabbits at any one time.
Last year the Branch rehomed 332 cats, 103 dogs and 51 rabbits, all of which were neutered, microchipped and health checked before adoption.
The Branch also helps local pet owners on low incomes by subsidising the cost of neutering and veterinary treatment for those in receipt of qualifying benefits.
Last year the Branch subsidised the costs of neutering 26 animals and helped fund veterinary treatment for a further 53 animals.
In 2007 the branch spent nearly £315,000 on animal welfare activities and without the support and generosity of people in Leeds, Wakefield and the surrounding area the Branch would be unable to continue with this worthwhile work.
